Don't summarise each chapter, just pick out contextual points and note any key quotations. Focus your responses on possible interpretations of the novel as suggested by each chapter. A brief summary of what is discussed in class will suffice.

Prepare for a 'Macbeth' timed essay to be written on Monday 28 November: "At the end the play Malcolm describes Macbeth as a "butcher". Do you think that Macbeth is merely portrayed as a "butcher"?'
